A new service has sprung up that aims to offer subscription and per episode subbed releases of anime from Japan.

The company seems legit and is based in Japan. They already have 3 titles one of which they are using as a promotional series another of the series is one that I rate quite highly "Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora: Looking Up at the Half-Moon."

The quality is good, sure it's not highdef but it's good enough better then say Veoh.

It runs in Flash so any flash compatible browser will do.

You can either subscribe to a series or purchase by the episode - it seems to be about $2 an episode according to ANN.

The only "downside" I suppose is that you only get the episode for 14 days - but then again when you pay for an episode on pay per view on sky you haev a similar deal - we're not talking music here, how often do you watch an anime twice.

Anyway they aim to get anime out promptly, it's what alot of us have been saying we've been waiting for for years (a legal high speed subscription service so we no longer have to rely on fansubs.)

I like the idea, I like the model, I think it has real promise, and I hope it takes off.

The site.
