Heath

This whole situation with Heath's death (I still cannot process those two words together) has really been sitting badly with me. I find myself just at odd moments tearing up and just thinking it's one big bad joke. I know a lot of us are feeling like this because it's something so out of no where. While I was cleaning up my room this weekend I ( Read more... )

I don't think it's silly or irrational to feel this way. As human beings, we each...connect to things, in our own time and purpose, and once they are embedded in our hearts, they become a part of us. It can be anything. A book, a piece of music, a film - or even, I believe, another person, even someone we've never met. Maybe the piece/person moved us, or was a lifeline in a time where everything else was chaos, where everything else hurt, but regardless of the reason, things like this become part of the tapestries that make us and it's reasonable to grieve when we lose them.

His face and adorableness may have gotten you first, but his work touched you, and that's a gift. It's horrible to think that the world has lost that. Something vital has been taken away, and it's only natural to hurt. I never felt this strongly about Heath, although I admired him and respected his work (and totally thought he was a cutie), but I do understand the feeling and the place it stems from. A couple of reports regarding his death and his family have made me cry, if for no reason beyond what a tragedy and shock it must be for them. He still had so much life , so much to give to the world, and we've all lost something in that.

But I also think the best thing people can do when they lose something or someone is to remember. The miracle is that the work itself always lives on. Eventually, that's where the solace will come.

*hugs you tight* I'm glad you posted this, especially if it made you feel better. ♥

You made me cry. *sniffles* But I do feel better, so I'm glad I got this out. I kept opening my LJ client and trying to type it up and kept deleting it because I was just like 'nah, it's to dumb'. I bought the Entertainment Weekly with him on the cover today and I haven't been able to look through it yet, but I'm glad I did, because I know when I want to I'll have it.

I did also get the new SPN magazine today and it is faboo.

I didn't mean to! But sometimes cries are good. *hugs you tight* I'm glad you wrote this. I firmly believe it's never dumb to share your feelings, especially strong ones, no matter what they pertain to.

Heath himself would probably be overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and grief that is surrounding his death - it only goes to show how much one person can touch many without ever realizing it. When I was watching 10 Things I Hate About You it kept striking me how full of life and talent he seemed to be, in every frame he was in, and it just broke my heart that the world and all of us have lost that spark.

The EW issue seems a lot classier than the tacky one that People released (with the inset of Eddie Murphy's breakup and Ashley Tisdale's nose job!11!1! Yuck. A little tact and respect would be nice). I keep seeing pictures of he and Matilda and she is such a cutie-pie.

This is the stupidest thing in the history of EVAR, but - there's an SPN magazine? I honestly had no idea. *headdesk* Does it have pretty piccies of our boys in it? Mmmmmm.

Yeah, the People magazine just seemed to throw it together without any real thought. I've always liked EW better anyways, less trashy.

*squeezes back*

You didn't know? :O Here: http://www.titanmagazines.co.uk/app?service=external/Product&sp=l1079 you can get it at any big bookstore. :D

EW is way less trashy, and the articles are like 10 bazillion times better. (Stephen King's editorials are usually made of WIN.) Also, EW covers theatre quite a bit, in addition to film/tv/music, which makes me happy. Everything in one.

OMFGSHINYYYY. I don't know how I've never seen it in Borders or anything. I know there's a Lost magazine (and Charmed...and Smallville...hmmm), but somehow I missed the SPN one!
