Hello world, this is Megan. Yes I am alive and running, all systems in tact. Since I have not posted a long post in awhile, I will fill you in on the last month of my life. After a wonderful trip to see Catherine I went home and had Christmas with my family. I got cool things like a battery operated wickless candle and a ipod shuffle. After this we hopped on a plane and went to see my dad's family out in Washington State. I hung out with my cuzes, drank tons of coffee from my uncle's state of the art espresso machine and a certain nearby Starbucks! For my cousin Kirsten's b-day we went shopping in Seattle, one of my favorite places to be, it's so exhilarating! I'd love to live there someday. The rain that encumbered so much of our visit actually let up for a while we were in the city! While there I bought an amazing sweater from Gap at an amazing low clearance price! It's pink/white/ and tan and it's really cute! We also had a girls day out where we ate lunch at a cute little place and planned my grandma and grandpa's 50th anniversary party. Oh boy, it will be a good one! My last day out west was spent falling and sometimes snowboarding down Steven's Pass (Why did I have to start big. I should have learned how to Snowboard out here in Michigan at our "mini" mountains instead of starting with the big guys). Well anyway, my third experience snowboarding was a better one. I think I actually fell less this time, but my bum was still terribly sore by the end of the day).
Came back to Michigan and spent the New Year with my mom's family. This was also enjoyable. There was lots of food and we watched movies and hung out.
My grand total of movie theatre movies over Christmas break was: 5 (Chronicles of Narnia twice, Fun With Dick and Jane, and Rumor Has It). Note that this does not include watching movies in the comfort of a home... that number would be much larger!
Then it was time to come back to school, where I am to this day! I've been taking Core 400 which has been enjoyable. Bev Nemecek is the teacher and I really like her. She's not afraid to share her hurts and fears, which makes us feel all the more ready to share ours. I've also enjoyed this class because it is the easiest J-term I have ever had! (Why I took Gospels and Acts and Modern Multicultural Lit. during past J-terms I still do not know, I'm crazy, I admit it). Today is my last day of class, hooray!
Unlike last semester where I seriously did not get through two enjoyable books, I have read a lot during Christmas and J-term. I've had a lot to catch up on! I've read some Beverly Lewis, Terri Blackstock, Lori Wick, Karen Kingsbury, and of course Lucy Maud Montgomery!
Looking ahead to my last semester at SAU it will be a jammed packed one, but I'm hoping a little easier because my thesis is written. (My defense is February 2nd by the way, it's coming up fast!). As for jobs I will be working lunches and breaks in the switchboard, writing for the Crusader, acting as Research Coordinator for Dr. Woods, and in another month or so I'll be working out at Southern Exposure when it opens for the season.
My classes this semester include an independent study to continue writing my novel (yeah...I'm not too sure how that's gonna go), French, Copy Editing, and 19th Century Brit. Lit. (I took all the other centuries so I thought, why not. Plus I wanted to take a class with Mrs. MoJo).
This semester will also include decisions about Master's Programs (don't exactly know which course of study I'm picking yet) and apartment hunting.
At this point I'm at peace with life and my future which is a good place to be.
Well there you go. Hopefully that gives you an insight into the life of Megan. If you want to know more I'm always a phone call away!
