[Oh, what's this? It looks like Joshua has found a book. There isn't a name or title visible on the cover at all, but he seems to be seriously pondering something on the pages.]

Well, who would have thought.

[He marks his page with his finger, closing the book just enough to look down at the PCD, smiling.]Did you all know, the life span of any ( Read more... )

[A little time to work out the tricks of this system, and he's confident he can make sure his messages stay private now. He's looking remarkably serious.]

Hey there, Josh. Havin' fun?

[Well, you certainly do look serious, Sanae. Have a raised eyebrow.]

What has you looking so grim?

Apparently they've got death runnin' on rails back to life around here. Everyone comes back in short order.

[He lifts the hand not holding the device in a casual shrug.] Can't say it's grim exactly, but it sounds like things are a bit more scrambled here than I thought.

And there's no Game here? What good does that do?

If you ask me, it doesn't do any good at all. Whoever's runnin' that side of things must have an interest in us stayin' on this plane.

Kinda makes me wonder if they're vulnerable over there.

And yet, they don't hold everyone here indefinitely. People leave, just not at their own discretion.

[Wonderful. Now he's even more unsure of what they're dealing with here.]

So, either they're not entirely in control of arrivals and exits, or they send people back once they've gotten what they want from them.

[Crossing his arms, frowning.] Option two sounds more altruistic than I'd bet on.

But not entirely impossible, considering they bring them back from the dead quickly.

What would they want, I wonder?

Could be they send 'em back to avoid deranging their timelines too badly. [He shrugs.]

... Sounds like the last thing they spent plenty of effort on upset a lot of the people here. Wonder if these spirits are usin' the negative emotion somehow?

That's an interesting thought. [Which, really, makes him think of Noise. But Noise that powerful...]

This clearly deserves more looking into.

[It's what Hanekoma's thinking of, too; but Noise would disintegrate if they tried to reach alternate worlds. They don't have the capacity for it, even if they somehow had the power to trap Angels. There's something very wrong with this place.]

That it does. I'm gonna see if I can get people to tell me what kinda things those spirits have been causin' here - see if there's a pattern.

That's a good idea. Let me know how it goes.

[Even if he'll likely be watching from a distance anyway.]
