Mod Post: New Mod Here at LegendofSeeker!
Hello Seekers!
I'm pleased to announce the I (pristineungift) have joined the moderation team here at legendofseeker. I aim to bring the community up to date, and make it easier to find old content. There may be a few more posts today/tomorrow as I get things sorted out.
COMING CHANGES
The day to day workings of the community will remain the same. legendofseeker will still be the forum for Seeker news and fanwork sharing that it has always been. However, there will be changes to the tagging system.
Tags: I spent last evening going through the tag list, narrowing it down to those that are useful. Over the next month, I will be going back through the community and retagging all the old entries, so that all content on the community is easily searchable through the tags. A post explaining the tagging system will go up shortly. That will also be the place to request a tag, which I will link in the sidebar (once we have one).
Moderation Cue: The first time you post to this community from this point forward, your post will go into the moderation cue. This is so that I can see your post before it goes up and give you a user tag. After your first post, you will be added to the approved user list and your posts will go straight up. The purpose is simply to help me catch posts so that everyone gets a user tag.
Seeker Digest: Every so often, more often when there are more activities happening, I will post a Seeker Digest detailing everything going on in the fandom at the time, and where the activity is happening.
New Fan Welcome Post: I will be putting together a welcome post for fans who have just joined the LJ fandom, designed to be a guide to the fandom on LJ, with lists of all comms that are still reasonably active. This will be linked in the sidebar (once we have one).
LAYOUT CONTEST
Later today or tomorrow, I will be posting a contest for a new header, default icon, and layout for legendofseeker, to refresh the look of the community. Everyone is welcome to participate. After all entries have been received, the community will vote on the new header and matching default icon. The second runner up will become the header for the profile page.
