Charity Drive via the Tabrett Bethell Appreciation Project!

The charity organization has been chosen!

"Direct Relief International provides medical assistance to improve the quality of life for people affected by poverty, disaster, and civil unrest at home and throughout the world. We work to strengthen the in-country health efforts of our partners by providing essential material resources - medicines, supplies and equipment.
Direct Relief was established in 1948 and is nonsectarian, nongovernmental, and apolitical. All the programs are provided in a non-discriminatory manner, without regard to political affiliation, religious belief, or ethnic identity."
While there were plenty of worthwhile charities in and around Sydney, we thought that an organization that had a more international scope would better reflect the international reach of Tabrett's admirers and the diverse people who have participated in this Project.
Also, we know Tabrett both travels and has had interest in the past (along with Bridget) in international disaster and crisis relief, so we felt this had a pretty good chance of matching Tabrett's preferences as well. Right now, Direct Relief is very involved in helping with the cholera situation in Haiti.
These are the real life heroes our Merry Band would recognize!
