I... don't remember the sequence of events too long. You were stuck in the other universe, none of us had any idea you were alive, and around 2004 Demon came back after being driven off in 2002. He was after two things, and it was generally assumed that acquiring these two things would help him with his goal. We never really knew what it was, but considering his interest in theophagy (that is, he seriously was after Ken's Dark Seed in an attempt to gain Millenniumon's strength by eating it), it was generally assumed that he wanted power greater than that of the Holy Beasts. When it turned out that he was after me too, and was carrying a copy of the crest of Darkness to hunt me down, it was also assumed that he was trying to absorb all the powers of darkness he could to strengthen his own power.
So, long story short, he's power-mad and willing to do anything to get it. From what I could tell the few times I was in his presence, he's able to remain calm so long as things go his way. When they don't, he'll go into a rage and pushing him to that rage was the key in defeating him. This is because when he went into his rage, he also went into his second form. This form was much more powerful, but at the same time, he was also berserk and made fatal mistakes that led to his downfall.
Not that it really mattered in the end. Having ZiydMillenniumon pop up for no good reason to kill him and then disappear was... something of a disappointment. Deus ex machina, as it were. We never really figured out how ZiydMillenniumon got there, why he was even interested, or how he just disappeared into thin air afterwards.
But, it's not the same digimon here, so the preceding may not be applicable.
(OOC: "Theophagy" is technically "eating god" or eating things symbolizing god.)
