A lot of this record sounds the exact same. I like the singing and the backing music, but it feels like a lot of the album could have been made into one long, continuous song. The singer sort of reminds me of a mix of Steve Lesley and The Pogues. There are a few really great songs about being drunk and heart-broken, but they're so interchangeable that I can't remember one in particular. It could be really good background music to a Sunday morning, with its crisp acoustic guitars and subtle, gravelly vocals, but it's not something I would rock out to when in an energetic mood.
Oh, and there's a Jawbreaker cover!?
