£140 lighter, 3 days later and the liter and a half of Jack Daniels is just about out of my system.
I keep slipping into day dreams, where I'm not really thinking about anything at all, i'm just shutting down for a few minutes while awake. It's so very peaceful, up until I realise I'm at work, and snap out of it and try to look like I was just deep in thought thinking about some really difficult programming problem.
Thursday I turned 25, the only notable difference seems to be that my injuries sustained through a heavy night of drinking are taking longer than usual to heal. So that sucks.
I worked my birthday, and nothing of note happened.
Friday I booked off, collected my glasses from the opticians and waited for my best friend, his girlfriend and another friend from Paris to arrive in my home town. At 11pm we finally went to a flat warming party, about 15 people we're there and I got quite drunk. I do remember at 3am spending £30 on 3 large pizza's for everyone (creepy amount of 3's in that sentence), expecting reimbursement when returning to the flat. When I got back, everyone pounce on the Pizza's but then failed to give me any money. The majority of people said that they didn't 'want' pizza, but seeing as it was here, they'd have a 'slice or two'. Wankers.
Saturday morning I woke up and waited around for people to arise from their hang overs. I played on the xbox with Charles ( my french buddy ) and Tommy ( my best friend ) for about an hour. It was quite fun just hanging out with Tommy, I rarely get time with him ( he lives 3 hours away ). Then we went to Birmingham City at about midday to watch Transformers 3. I didn't dislike the film, but I was disappointed by several things. No spoilers here.
1. There was a vast lack of continuity between the first 2 films and this 3rd one. Various character's that were in 1 and 2 simply didn't exist in 3 with no explanation as to where they were, that and huge plot holes (if you take the first 2 films into account).
2. Bad acting from the model that replaced whats her face from the first 2.
3. Shia LaBeouf - He kills a decepticon on his own. A stupid, whiny little kid took down my FAVOURITE decepticon.
4. So much slow motion that if it was taken out, the 2+ hour film would only be 20 minutes long.
Other than that, it was good old fashioned fun and I did consider it a nice afternoon.
We got back, put up a big gazebo tent thingy in the garden and then waited for guests to arrive. I think close to 40 people were crammed into my back garden and house, it was a very good party as far as I remember.
The only thing that threw me slightly is that Kit, the girl who'd let me give her a topless oil massage the week before barely talked to me, I wasn't being overly talkative too her, there was so many guests there that it wasn't really possible to do so, but when I did find chance moments alone or at least with her for a chat, she'd get up and say she was going to get a drink and then not come back. I bought the Pay per view boxing (Haye vs Klinchko), it was on in multiple rooms in the house, she is a big fan of the boxing, but had driven off to pick up another guest who'd just arrived at the train station. I was upstairs in my room with 2 other people, the other rooms were already pretty full, and I sent her an SMS saying, 'when you get back, come upstairs, i've saved you a seat', she got back and went straight into the lounge downstairs, then text me to say 'where are you'. I told her 'upstairs, come up!', to which she didn't reply to until the fight had begun, telling me 'too late, fights started!'. I don't think I saw her for the rest of the night.
Now, I don't mind if she isn't interested or something, it's not like I was trying to come onto her either, but blanking me at my own party is pretty lame. Grrr. Fucking women.
On the brightside, Tommy is staying with me for the entirety of July as he is doing a course at a place not far from my place (much too far to travel from his home), so that will atleast make my evenings rather enjoyable for the next 20 or so days.
