Where to

Forgot one last thing, cancelling the "condo" homeowners insurance on the cult co-op unit, so handled that on Friday, now just waiting for the refund to come through (supposedly as a credit back to the card used to pay it in the first place back in January, which is fine as that's my main daily use card).

As annoying as the building list serve was for the cult co-op, I do wish we had something similar for the new HOA we're now in. The NextDoor app is fun to see what crazy shit people will post (seriously, people are nuts, but it's fun 'get out your popcorn and watch' on occasion), but it's not specific to the HOA, nor even just the city we now live in. Eh, they get the snow removed, the 'yard' maintained, and the trash and recycling picked up, so I'm good for the most part. I did take a page from susandennis this year and paid the entire year's worth of HOA dues at once. The management company has a ridiculous set up where they want some outrageous percentage to pay it online, and of course the mail difficulties earlier this year delayed the first payment, so they were threatening late fees, and I just said "fuck it" and sent a check for the rest of the year. Yeah, the time value of money might not make that worth it (though does it really at current interest rates?), but the psychic value of knowing it's done and over with until January was well worth it.

The husband is doing some stuff for school today/tomorrow, so I shall most likely spend the days killing things in various vidja gaymes. At least the recent heat wave has broken, so it won't be quite as bad outside, though I did enjoy the big thunderstorms all this past week.
