Dropped out
The bottom just dropped out here, with a little lightning to go with it. Explains why the "severe thunderstorm watch" email came through an hour or so ago. Thankfully it's supposed to cool things down. Unfortunately the husband got stuck commuting in the heat today.
Wasn't bad first thing this morning when I ran, though. 72F-ish (22C-ish), which was pleasant for a run. Down to two walking breaks, one waiting for a light to cross the road, the second on the hill of death that I hit in the last half mile from home.
Oh, now it's really coming down on the windows. And we just got a flash flood watch. Whee!
Work is work. The House is working on legislation for us, so I'm getting intermittent requests for drafting assistance, which of course have extremely tight turn around times, because the Hill is cra-zy when it comes to actually legislating (nothing for months, then hair-on-fire-gotta-happen-yesterday; they remind me of perpetual undergraduates working on papers).
