I know that this entry should have been done, maybe oh- two weeks ago?
But it took me this long to actually like, get the pictures on my
computer. So here they are! I know you've been waiting eagerly by your
computers for it.
So mom and I woke up at the butt crack of dawn to drive down to Fenway
to stand outside to try and win tickets to the premiere of Fever Pitch.
My mom (who is the best) made us these little signs and picked out my
outfit
So we had fun that morning hanging out with all the crazy fans,
screaming at anyone who drove by- it was just like being at a game. The
only thing that really got on my nerves was the stupid newscaster. He
just thought he was better than everybody because he's on TV and he had
20 tickets in his hand to taunt people with. He did let me stand next
to him and fawn over the tickets however.
He was such a tool. I asked him how he got his job of being a
newscaster, to which he replied with "because I'm dead sexy." So I said
"no really- how did you get this job?" because I was actually
thoroughly interested seeing as I'm studying journalism and all. And
this stupid girl next to me said "because he's dead sexy!" and he was
like "oh well she's got one up on you." I wanted to just grab the
ticket out of the guy's hand and run away with it. And it's not like
this guy had anything to brag about, I mean honestly.
So long story short, I met up with this kid Pat whom I actually
graduated with and didn't even know it. And he was like "oh if I win
I'll take you," and I was like "haha okay." And then he actually goes
and ends up winning because the kid tatooed Yankees Suck himself
on his own arm and the newscaster gave him the tickets! And Pat turns
to me and says "I'm taking you with me!!!" Needless to say, I started
screaming and crying, all while being televised on Fox morning news.
So I headed to Boston that night and picked up Pat to go over to
Fenway. The place was packed- there were all these people trying to buy
tickets. Ha! Like tickets for that night could even have a price. But
there was a very select crowd there.
Looking around Fenway and seeing how few of us there were there, and we
all were able to go this one event- well it's so cheesy but it was like
magic. Being in the atmosphere of Fenway and sitting in front of the
Green Monster, after the Sox had won no less, it was just like this
crazy, intense, wonderful feeling of being a part of something that
felt, I don't know, historical. I mean, what other movie premieres have
ever been held in Boston, about Boston?
So then it was time for the red carpet. Everybody who was anybody in
Boston was there! (okay maybe that's not true- but I've always wanted
to be able to say it).
Holy crap it's Tom Brady and David Ortiz! Check out Papi's watch!
And of course...my love.
Seriously, I turned into one of those screaming school girls. Remember
those girls that would be on TRL, holding signs and crying and
screaming at the mere sight of one of the Backstreet Boys? Well that
was me, minus the braces and the sign.
He was just so adorable. *sigh*
Of course there were lots of other important people there too. Like...
I don't know who that woman is, because this...
...is Damon's wife. And I know what you're thinking, and I'm pretty sure they're not real.
So after the red carpet festivities, we headed over to the theatre were
they were showing the movie on all 13 screens. They kind of shuffled us
in real quick, but there were all these people surrounding the theatre
outside, just waiting to catch a glimpse of someone famous. I couldn't
believe how much was being put into this movie. So much energy and
effort from everyone involved was put into this event and I felt so
lucky to have been there and been a part of it.
Oh, and the movie was wonderful. It's pretty much the most perfect date
movie I've ever seen. Equally enjoyable for guys and girls. And I'm not
just saying this because of my deep deep love for Mr. Fallon. Even
though he was the most adorable I had ever seen. But I was really
impressed with Drew as well. All in all it was an amazing movie and an
amazing night. And I've already gone to see it for the second time and
I plan on going again.
Remember- relationships come and go but the Red Sox are forever.
