After the Iron Lady, comes the Lady.

I never thought this would happen, but it did. The Lady is about the life of Burmese Democratic leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, and portrayed by Michelle Yeoh in the movie.

As we all know, Burma has been closed to the world ever since the military rule. It is slowly opening up to the world, as we have witnessed Suu Kyi's release from house arrest, followed by Hillary Clinton's visit.

But the release of this movie is really big. People will now see Burma, and understand the country. After much reading, Michelle Yeoh bravely accepted the role as Suu Kyi, studying hundreds and hundreds of vidoes and interviews of Burma's democratic hero. She had to lose weight, as Suu Kyi had a really small frame and a frail body.

When she heard about the release from house arrest, she took the time to visit her and meet her personally for a dialogue.

But then when she attempted to go back to Burma, she was denied entry, as the military somewhat found out about her movie. Wicked right?

And, they shot some of the scenes in Rangoon, Burma's former capital, without any permission/permits!! Isn't that crazy? I love it!

I really wish there's an Asian release for this film. Otherwise, I don't really know what to do!
