Cheers to the freakin' long weekend

Whenever there's a long weekend, I don't pass the chance of planning something out of town. I never really had plans for the October 31 long weekend (thanks for the late announcement), but a week before that weekend, I was able to brew something up.

I rummaged through brochures and flyers that I have at home, coming from one of the tourism trade shows in one of the malls, and came across a resort and spa that I've been eyeing to visit.

It's Ayu Spa at Punta Bulata, Negros Occidental.

3 hours away from Bacolod, we purposely spent a night in Bacolod first before going straight to the resort so that the travel won't be as stressful as it could've been.

So we hired a van, and the travel wasn't as bad as expected. I surveyed a couple of people and they said that the drive was bumpy, and oftentimes, 6 hours. But contrary to popular belief, it was really only 3 hours.

And when we got there, it was just so beautiful. Despite it being a long weekend, I loved that the resort was deserted, with only 4 rooms booked for that night.

I loved the rooms too! Too bad I wasn't able to take photos, but the best part is the restroom. They made sure that the restrooms were big (something like 10 sq. meters), with benches and ceiling fans. Winner!

Too bad we weren't able to visit the island nearby called Danjugan Island. When we booked our boat, it wasn't working. Lol.
