Ayutthaya

Not far from Bangkok, up north is the city of Ayutthaya.

I have been to Bangkok a lot of times before, but it was my first to visit Ayutthaya during my trip last April.

Ayutthaya is a well preserved temple complex, with about 8 to 10 notable temples to go to and see. We initially thought of using a bike to see the sights, but it was too hot, and I really don't trust our navigation skills, thus, we ended up hiring a driver to tour us around, and I'm glad we did.

We spent about 10 to 20 minutes per temple, and the walk back to the airconditioned car was worth the money we paid for.

Inside the temple complexes, there all sorts of buddhas.

And impressive stupas.

They have medium sized reclining buddhas,

And then they have big ones too. (I wonder how much cloth they used to dress this one up?)

and big dirty feet.

There were not much tourists when we went, but I think it gets crowded early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

We were there around noon, and it was quite hot and humid.

This one looked like a wicked house:

And you should not leave Ayutthaya without seeing this buddha head.

I wonder what happened?
