Puerto Princesa Food Fest

Hello LJ! It's been a while. I just got back from a birthday shopping trip from Hong Kong. While it was tiring, it was really fun. I didn't take much pictures, because Hong Kong is Hong Kong. Much like when I go to Singapore next, I don't think I'll also be taking much pictures.

Anyway, I am not here to talk about Hong Kong just yet, I still have a couple of Puerto Princesa restaurants that I have to blog about! lol.

---------------------

Since we tried Kalui's already, we asked a couple of people which restaurant is worth trying given that we only had 1 more dinner and 1 more lunch left.

For dinner, we tried Bilao at Palayok, recommended by Kim. Lonely Planet said that it was the best Filipino restaurant in the area too so we just tried this one.

While the food was okay, the most surprising part was the price. It was soo cheap. We spent less than a thousand pesos and we ate a lot!

The interiors were very traditional bahay kubo, since I went to Kalui's the night before, I wasn't impressed with Bilao's interiors anymore. But it was still pretty, not your normal restaurant.

Our water!

So here's what we got!

Seafood sa gata! lovely crab!

Of course the lato!

Liempo with Itlog na maalat

Kinilaw na tuna. Lovely!

And lastly, the spicy squid.

All these for less than a thousand pesos! Really cheap stuff!

And then for lunch the next day, before heading to the airport, we visited this restaurant called Badjao Seafront Restaurant.

It was advised that we eat in this place for lunch, because it gets too mosquito-y at night, and that isn't fun.

The restaurant is a bit far from the city, so you need to hire a tricycle to bring you to/from your hotel.

Once you enter, you'll pass this beautiful bridge with the mangroves on the sides

And then you'll enter the dining area

Since we were in a hurry, we ordered right away. We had an hour to spare so we just ordered away.

Of course, we couldn't skip the Tuna sashimi.

And again, the lato! (We had this every meal!)

Buttered prawns which were super fresh!

and then the crab in gata.

It was a lovely pre departure meal, a lovely way to round up our Puerto Princesa trip!

Food trips around the country is the best! I can't wait for the next one!
