Narasoma

If there was one thing that was worth going back to Bali, it would be Narasoma.

Narasoma is a small hotel in Ubud, Bali. As most of you know, Ubud is the cultural center of Bali. It's about an hour away from the airport and the beaches, it's in the center of the jungle, and the center of Balinese life.

It also helped that we saw the magic of Bali early in the morning, as we arrived in Bali close to midnight. The drive from the airport going to Ubud was dark, so we didn't know how Bali looked like when we got there, and it still remained a mystery.

We got to the hotel tired, so we were excited to see our beds.

Note that the rooms are not airconditioned, but you don't really need it. Even if we went during summer season, it doesn't really get hot in Bali. It's actually cool. Their summers are usually cool, the main difference between rainy season is the rain. I had this impression that Bali/Indonesia is one of the most humid places on earth, but it actually isn't.

We dozed the night away, and we woke up with a breath taking view, and with the realization that indeed, we were in Bali.

The view from our room was AMAZING. It was one of the most wonderful things in this world. It was so serene, calm and humbling, that you don't even want to make noise.

This was the view from our back veranda. The good thing about this hotel, particularly the 3rd floor, is that you're probably the tallest structure in the area, so you'll see the whole of Ubud.

And then the front view was equally amazing! It was breath taking.

Temple roofs everywhere, with small details. It was a sight you could stare at the whole day. The woman staying beside our room was on her chair, with her blanket and her beads, and she was chanting the whole morning.

And then the detail of Balinese architecture is amazing, just look at our room door and windows.

and taking a shower was a different experience. Figure out why. But it was such a great experience.

and when you go down, here's the hotel meditation area and courtyard.

Here's one of the rooms. just look at the details. it's fantastic.

Our hotel painted a picture of what Bali looks and feels like. If there was one great decision that we made during the trip, it was choosing and staying at this hotel. I'm definitely going back and just stay here and hang for a week! It was such a peaceful place.
