Let's Eat!

for my Korea trip, my biggest objective was to eat the whole of Seoul. Going to Korea made me try and eat authentic korean dishes and i loved every bit of it. from the dining experience, to the sound of people around me speaking korean, the clanking of the chopsticks, to the sizzle of oil dripping from the grilled beef being cooked in front of you, eating in Korea was everything that I imagined.

in one of the lunches, after reading lonely planet korea, we came across this small hole in the wall restaurant in insadong that was traditional, and served traditional.

(it's not the restaurant that you're seeing in the foreground, it's the one at the back.)

what i loved most about this restaurant is that they didn't have ANYTHING in english, everything was in korean. the only familiar item in the menu was the numbers. they didn't even have any photos of the food that we can choose from. so thus, we just pointed out whichever set dish that we liked. when we got there, we started with just these dishes.

and after we selected our set menu, then it became WILD. the waitress just came into the room in 3 minute intervals, bringing at least 4 new dishes per visit!! it was crazy!

from this:

to this!

it wont even fit the table that we had to put some of the dishes on the floor!

and oh, this is actually just for 4 persons. we got so overwhelmed at the start, but we were so tired and hung over, that we managed to finish almost everything!
