top turon
almost every season, top chef would always have someone who's asian. there was season three winner hung, who's vietnamese. and then there were the filipinos, season two's josie and season four's dale. dale was the one who introduced halo-halo to the show, which the judges loved.
this season, there's a hawaiian guy who looked really polynesian-ish, so at first i wasn't really sure if he was filipino. until last week's episode.
eugene looked like a typical hawaiian. last week, their quickfire challenge was to make a dessert without using sugar and this was what he did:
mini blini burgers and banana lumpias. he probably forgot the term "turon" so he just used banana lumpia
with a strawberry dip. hmmm.. weird.
here's padma tasting the banana lumpia. he didn't win this challenge, but he also wasn't the worst. though at the elimination challenge, he was sent home..
