wanted
watched wanted this evening.
it's really violent but i love it. i had the same feeling (on certain scenes) from watching hostel and the saw franchise. squeamish, grossed out but leaving me to want more. the movie is very graphic, so if you're not a fan of guns and violence, then this one's not for you.
this is timbor bekmambetov's first english film. most of you would probably know is other film, nightwatch. i wasn't able to watch nightwatch, though i saw daywatch (not directed by bekmambetov) and super overly hated it. it was a visual delight though, but i didn't get it.. so i never got interested watching nightwatch, which was the prequel.
and of course, angelina jolie is angelina jolie. characterization fits her perfectly. the first part reminded me of mr&mrs smith, then towards mid to end, tomb raider. though i noticed and felt her oldness/wisdom in this one compared to her older movies. maybe it's the post giving birth/mom aura.
all in all, i really enjoyed watching it. it's a movie you've never seen before. it's original and fresh. it has the complicatedness of matrix but on a less scientific out of this world way.
one thing i'm sure of is that the people behind it are all crazy, demented, psychologically sick and drugged 24/7. i love it.
