shift energies

okay, i need to shift energies. happy happy..

last saturday, i watched top chef's final four. they were in puerto rico so i wasn't surprised to see culinary similarities with our cooking. i mean, we're in asia, but our cuisine is much different compared to the other asian countries, the seas that set us apart from our neighboring countries dictate the kinds of spices that we use. filipino culture has always been considered as the culture that has one of each, thus, explains our food. we really don't have any distinct filipino food, but rather, we borrow food mostly from latin influences, and filipinize them.

say in this case, our very own lechon:

the lechon in puerto rico looks healthier than our lechons here.

but what's more interesting in the show is that, we see a lot of filipino influences, even in these caucasian chefs who love asia/cook asian. take for example, stephanie. she has traveled over asia during their 4 month break and had dale, the filipino who got eliminated, as sous chef for this particular elimination challenge, thus this:

the chicharon part was dale's idea. :) the judges enjoyed it!

and the chef everyone hated, lisa, cooks asian too. thus this:

though lisa should LEAVE. like NOW. she even has a new haircut. it's gross.

she should be eliminated next.. actually, she should've been eliminated 6 episodes ago!

i think that DALE and JENNIFER deserves the spots LISA and ANTONIA have.. they really do.

top chef
