new year's and fire works.

as you all know, i live in the del monte/banaue area in quezon city. to those who aren't familiar with the area, population here is densely chinese. so imagine how our new year's are like.

for the past years, we haven't been buying fire crackers anymore. i still remember when we were kids, we'd buy some small firecrackers like the crying cow, lusis, watusi, and the fountain. the noisiest that we would get would be the plapla already.

now, these firecrackers are just by the ways. the firecracking community evolved and now, neighbors battle as to which household had the brightest, nosiest, most extravagant, pinaka schuschal fireworks display. like for example, our neighbor.

we all see these kinds of firecrackers all the time. years back, we'd get amazed seeing them in theme parks, amusement parks, often times malls during special occassions.

it just feels different and more exciting if you get to see it this close:

may slight takot factor. i would always picture in my mind the fireworks being lit, then after a few, would topple down and face the crowd while canyoning huge powderful fireworks. tense!!!

fireworks, new year
