I'd like to present a passage from my ridiculous Sociology book of doom:
(it's talking about Deviance in certain types of neighborhoods)
"A frequent activity of such neighborhoods is leaning. A bunch of guys will lean against the front of the corner store, the side of the pool hall, or up against the barbershop. In contrast, out in the suburbs young guys don't gather to lean against one another's houses, and since there is nowhere else for them to lean, whatever deviant leanings they might have go unexpressed."
