Hi Everyone, including me. I'm really excited because I got the adoption statistics for 1971-1988 from Homeland Security. Turns out that in the year 1971 there were only 37 kids from Taiwan and China adopted by Americans. I can't believe the number is so low! That means that if it wasn't for me, there would only be 36. I don't think I belong to any other group with such a low number.
My Fourth of July was okay. I went to the beach in Port Huron with my mom. Now I'm tan. Actually, I'm a little burned but I never like to admit that. I plan on spending at least one day at the beach or my dad's pool every week this summer. I saw Karina's Summer To Do List, and I'm thinking maybe I should make one. I spent July 3 at my dad's house and swimming a little in his pool. I think he had fun. I think the whole time everyone was thinking "Hwa-Ling, go back to your own planet". But more on that later.
I saw War of the Worlds and it was dumb.
I also saw Saving Face and it was really good. My friend Hue came by on Saturday and we went to Thang Long and then to see the movie. Hue is a good friend, but we never seem to get a good conversation going, and I'm not one who enjoys sitting in silence. I wonder what she thinks.
I finished my Vietnam story and I let my mom read it. It was obvious she didn't think that much of it. Actually, I don't think she really liked my Panama story from last year that much either. I think she's afraid my head's going to get too big or something. Oh well. At least I like it. I'll just feed on the compliments I get from others.
