Lucky to be alive. (near death experience?)

Today has been a great day for the most part. I woke up with Nicole at 2:30pm and we talked in bed for a while about our dreams and things like that. The sleeping was great, Nicole and I held on to eachother all night long. We took a shower and headed out to the mall to do some Christmas shopping. We took my car because it had gas in it and it ( Read more... )

Last night we were shooken up... but this morning in bed we were laughing about it cause it was scary but we made it. I think secretly Nicole had a lot of fun almost crashing. She just LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS DANGER!

I think you're being too hard on yourself there. Things can happen with driving at just about any time. Even if you're driving perfectly safe and legal, there's always things out there that you don't have control over. It's how you handle those situations that matters.

This is, of course, after the fact... so it doesn't help you much with what you went through.

I'm guessing there must have been some old oil on the road or something, which becomes really slick when it gets wet.

Bottom line is, don't beat yourself up over it. At least you didn't wind up skidding off the road up onto an embankment, breaking your suspension.

Heh, I agree. And you did a great job keeping your car in control to save yourself and Nicole. No worries for something that wasn't your fault to begin with and in the end it could've been worse if you came in contact with something else but everything went out your way. I pat you on the back! I hope Nicole feels better but I'm sure she does. :) Glad you both are okay.

Thanks dogg. Last night I was just still shooken up. After I got off the computer I got in bed with Nicole and just realized that we both made it out ok, and that it was one of those things that just happens without warning. We're both fine today... although, I'm not driving my car in the rain.

Thanks. Afterwards I thought to myself and laughed because I remembered you saying if it happened to you again, you'd just pull the ebrake and drift making the accident look cool at least... hahaha.

Nicole was really great and calm during the situation, and afterwards. I was afraid I really freaked her out, but she was extremely understanding to it all... she's a great co-driver. :)

Sounds kinda like that time I had to skid to a stop into the emergency lane on my way to work that one day the beginning of the year to avaiod rear ending that grandma in her Caddy that was trying to enter the freeway at 25mph, while I was going about 65! Here like 9 months later the skid mark STILL is there in the spot I locked my brakes at and made a split second decision that ultimately may have very wekk saved my life, and definately saved my car from sure injury.

I'm glad you an Nic are okay, I'd hate to see either of you get hurt, and in that way at that!
