EDIT: Oops, this was to be posted to
Deep Sea Life. Ah, well, it's fixed now.
Check out the
Deep Sea Fish plushie puppets I found! They're not too pricey, so I may purchase one or two.
Also, I just got back from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, where they had a small sterling anglerfish pendant (like the gulper eel one I scanned), and a large gulper eel pin that was absolutely lovely. Unfortunately, they are MBA exculsives, they have no online gift shop, and the pin was (U.S.) $60. Tch.
Also, they have a live 1/2 hour lecture three times a day that focuses on deep sea life. There are over 400 clips of deep sea life exclusive to the MBA/MBARI, I am told, and they're really nice. Unfortunately, the content depends on requests from the audience, and most people didn't know enough to ask anything (other than myself, there was a request for marine mammals and... sea otters. -_-; ). The lecturer told me I was one of a very small number who asked to hear about gulper eels. I was slightly saddened by this, but the footage and information were good, and the lecturer was very nice.
