Mom and Dad dragged me out to the big ol' campus yard sale--I'm in a much livelier mood now.
Stuff I got:
+ Touch-tone phone that looks like one of those really old phones with the wooden housing. Needs one wire repaired so I can hear the other end of the conversation, everything else works perfectly. $10.
+ Pressure guage that looks like a B-movie ray gun. Does it work (for guaging air pressure, not shooting people)? Who knows, or cares. It looks REALLY cool. $5.
+ Hypodermic needle-thing (wrong terminology, but that's what it looks like) used for flushing automotive systems. Best Halloween prop EVAR. $3.
+ Medical-grade stethoscope. Proves that my dad's bitchy cat purrs more than my neurotic one, even while they're eating. $0.50.
I also got to talk to the woman who took the photo I got when I adopted the Ruppel's vulture at the local(-ish) zoo. She's very cool and knowlegeable, and she gave me the number of the person in charge of hiring volunteers.
In other news, most of the areas of study I'm interested in are "new to the catalouge" and don't actually have any classes in them yet. I'm just too cool for them, I guess.
The wierd college that no one ever talks about has a couple courses on instructing school-age children in art and science, and some way awesome field study courses. I may dabble in these while attending somewhere else, since they don't have any prerequisites. *boogies*
