Take good care of my baby, pt. 4

I almost called this the final part, but it's not. It's just the last part that involves me. To my delighted surprise, the baby jackrabbit survived the night, and on into the afternoon. He was even showing signs of alertness (moving his head when I shifted the cage, etc.) by the time I took him to the vet.

I love that vet, too. It's the same one I take the geckos to, and with good reason. I called another vet on an honest mistake (they're very close to my vet and I was looking the number up by address), and the receptionist said thier exotics vet wasn't in, and that she'd have to call back and let me know if the other vetrinarian would be comfortable working with "your rabbit", and wanted to know how old it was (damned if I know). I got ahold of my vet in the meantime, and the second I said "jackrabbit", she said, "You want to bring it up here and have the wildlife center pick it up, right?". Damn straight, that's what I wanted! It's not a pet, I'm not making an appointment for it.

They were generally awesome about it, and I feel good putting the little one in thier care. I also dropped off some stuff for the girls' doctor (I had to explain to an unsuspecting nurse that they were "gecko leavings". The look on her face was hilarious!), so that takes care of a lot of things.

DreamLAN again tonight, apparently. I should be napping.

I'm also calculating the cost of getting my butt to Comic Con next year. It's looking quite feasible, actually, especially if I take the train and drag along friends who feel like splitting a hotel room.

I think most of that had at least a little geeeeek in it.
