So I was waiting for it to be a disaster, but the first day went fairly well. For being out from 8:30AM to 6:00PM, I'm not really that tired. The rest of the week will be better, too, since I don't have to be at work until 12:15.
That's not to say that some of the kids aren't scary, however. There's a couple that I resisted throttling into submission, but the icing on the cake was a little guy from the younger class who came up to me during free play and said, "I kill ladybugs." I was kind of confused, and asked why. He answered, "For fun."
Ohh-kay, kiddo. I'm just gonna let someone considerably larger than me deal with you. Have fun. Eheheh.
My little buddy Joe totally makes up for it, though. He's a hugger. He's also the tinyest kid in the class, so when we went outside, he insisted on holding my hand so he wouldn't "blow away". (Yeah, it was kinda windy.)
I can wear my goggles, too. It blows the kids' minds. One of teh troublemakers stared at me for a while, then announced "You're wierd." and waited for me to be offended. Heh. Later on, he told me that my mom wears army boots. My response, "Actually, I wear army boots. If it cools off, I'll wear them in one day." The look on the kid's face was a great source of amusement.
...Grah, crap. I have to drop my math course and take it next term. Sonovabitch. Ah, well.
Side note to Druhol: I got your message. Yes, those are probably mine, and yes, I'll drop by and pick them up. I've got a bunch of stuff going on right now, so if I'm not over by the time you're moved out (unlikely), just leave them with your parents.
