Meant to Be
Once, years ago, I had two brothers. Both dark-haired, both beautiful, both steeped in the Force. I loved them both. One had been a part of me, my twin. The other had been just as dear to me. Memories of our childhood play soundlessly through my head.
One forfeited his own life to save us all. He died a hero’s death and walked in the Light until the end. The other…gave his life away, gave all his beliefs away, gave his humanity away…to walk in the Dark.
I will extinguish my brother’s dark light, though it will destroy a part of my own soul to do so. But I cannot falter. I must do what the Force tells me to do. If I listened to my own traitorous heart, I would simply lock him away, safe from himself and no danger to others, but that is my own will and not the one I will follow.
It is up to me now. I alone will challenge him. Perhaps this is how it was always meant to be and the previous years were just a time of grace. I don’t know how life will go on afterwards but somehow it will. The Force will see to that.
