Right-wing terrorism

After reading this article in the Washington Post, I'm left with the impression that there's a distinction between "Islamic fundamentalism-linked terrorism" and "right-wing terrorism".
Can someone please explain to me why Islamic fundamentalism is not right-wing? To use a crude analogy, the distinction to me seems more like "home team" vs. "away team" instead of "right-wing" and "Islamic".

Note: I am not implying I'm rooting for either of these... I think they're equally detestable and hate-filled.

Also, I do understand that there's a distinction in methodology, strategy and recruitment between the groups, so do I think the FBI/German police need to use different tactics for each. But by labeling one as right-wing, I think you are obscuring the definition of right-wing.
