You know what the problem with the Golden Rule is? Every now and then you run into someone who -- either truly, or doing a great job of acting -- does not care how others treat them, and we are woefully unprepared for the situation. Said person seems to have carte blanche to sow the seeds of anger and unhappiness through the land, as there exists no fear of reprisal. And when this careful social balance is thrown for a loop, because *somebody* decided not to play by the rules, what are you supposed to do? The correct answer is obviously to "walk away," but that's so...unfulfilling. Aren't people supposed to be punished for breaking the rules? Can't I be judge, jury and executioner?
