Re: Birthday ]
AU Background:
Rillianne (Rin) and Allen (Len) were born in luxury, being the twin children of the royal family of the Yellow Kingdom. The queen however, believing that twins will cause her great misfortune and ultimately her downfall, separated the two children on their fourth birthday, sending the boy off to the neighboring village while she kept the girl for herself. Already before their separation, the king died of an unknown disease, and even the queen's days were numbered, having contracted the disease herself. Nevertheless, she raised princess Rin with the help of her minister, though she instilled in the young girl the wrong knowledge.
The princess grew up only knowing the pleasures money and royalty gave her, for her mother was quite a frivolous woman in her own right. She had no qualms beheading people just because they refused to give her what she wanted - to the point of destroying a whole village because her own resources were getting scarce - and her reputation as 'Daughter of Evil' grew after her mother passed away two months before Rin's fourteenth birthday. It was around her mother's death that Len returned to her, under the disguise of a humble servant to the young queen. She was delighted to have her brother back, but because of the late queen's order to discard him, his royal status wasn't known to the whole Kingdom, and he was simply known as 'the servant with the same face as the Queen'.
Once, during a visit to the neighbouring country, Rin caught a glimpse of the Blue Prince, and fell in love with him at first sight. Unfortunately he was already in love with the Daughter of Green, and in a fit of anger and jealousy, she sent her servant to extinguish the other girl's life.
The order only triggered the people of the Yellow Kingdom to rise up against Rin, and with the help of the vengeful Blue Prince and a Red Soldier from the village she destroyed, they managed to capture the Queen. Her execution time was at three in the afternoon the next day, ironically the time when Rin usually takes her afternoon tea.
The tale takes a twist in the end though; unknown to the masses, Len had switched with his sister before the soldiers invaded the castle, and it was Len, not Rin, who they executed that afternoon. A distraught Rin could only stand by and watch as her brother took her punishment in front of her people, eventually running away and living by her own, praying to the gods for a chance to live happily with her brother once more.
Personality:
Rin is a princess through and through, spoilt rotten from the material wealth surrounding her and having no one to defy her - though if they do, she will not hesitate to destroy them and claim their possessions as her own. She never takes no for an answer, and having her beloved brother follow her every whim when he returned to her side only made her more insistent in her demands, even resorting to murder just because she was jealous of the victim.
She can be sweet if she wants to, using her girlish charms to win the hearts of men and lure them in, using them for her own entertainment before she casts them aside and moves on to the next victim. Mischievous, playful and frivolous, she has little care in the world for people other than herself - and to a large extent her brother - treating them as if they were playthings or creatures instead of the human beings that they are.
Innocent only in looks and manners, Rin's tainted heart only has a small place for her most important person, that is her brother Len. Her love for her brother is strong, growing even stronger when Len forced her to flee the kingdom while he took her sins in his hands, she could only stand by and watch helplessly as her brother was sentenced, breaking down completely when she realised her mistake.
Abilities:
Human through and through.
Sample Entry:
Well, this was new. No finery, no steward, no Len. Rin huffed and tugged at the white body-hugging piece of cloth on her body, displeased with its strangeness. She was more used to large gowns and tight bodices, not this… pathetic thing.
After a bit of effort, she managed to pull the white thing off, leaving her naked and cold in the empty room. It was then that she noticed the collar around her neck, and, in a slight bit of panic, she screamed out for her servant-brother.
"Len!! Allen Abaddonia!! Where are you?!!"
Her voice echoed in the small room, but there was no reply from Len, who would usually rush to her side the moment she called for him. It was starting to scare her, this new, unknown place, but she would not falter. She is the queen of the Yellow Kingdom after all, and queens don't falter or show their weaknesses to the lesser people.
Huffing again, she sat back down, pulling a bedsheet (bah, cotton!) around her. It's almost close to tea time, and she's still undressed and wearing this strange, silly collar around her neck. Blasphemy!
