OMG - didn't Stone die in the early 90s (back when I used to tape AMC/OLTL/GH every day)? I am so confused.
The set visit sounds wonderful! IIRC the Grey's Anatomy production office is on the same lot, too.
As a fan, do you have insight into Chuck Pratt leaving GH as co-head writer and going to work on "Vanished" as being good or bad for either show? I heard Bob Guza likes to revisit the historic GH, which must acount for the fact that I still know 50% of the characters over 10 years after I stopped watching regularly.
Yes Stone did die in 1996. The current story has Robin having returned from Paris after 7 years away and she's fallen for Patrick (the guy in the clip) who is an arrogant, manwhore neurosurgeon who recently pricked his finger while operating on an AIDS patient and is now having an HIV scare. So there's a lot of flashbacks to Stone happening and such. I've shed many tears.
I stopped watching GH for three years so I missed a lot of the Pratt/Guza reign of terror together. All I know is people cheered when Pratt left the show to go work on his own pilot which wasn't picked up by ABC and feared he would return, which should tell you something about his reception. Then again Bob Guza is no better, he's currently massacring several characters in one six-sided sexfest of ONS involving mothers, daughters, stepfathers, ex-lovers, a junkie and a teenager. It's not pretty. Everyone is sort of amazed that Patrick/Robin exist on this show because it's so far removed from all the rest of the crap happening.
I think you may have mentioned the LA trip but I'm pretty sure you left out the bit about a GH set tour!!! You realise we'll want to read every. single. detail.
L.A. was quite hot, record heat and humidity actually but lovely. I'm looking forward to returning. We're looking to go in October so hopefully it will be cooler then.
I really do need to sit down and write about my travels so far this year. I've been lax in a lot of areas but that's because my mind has been all over the place trying to make life decisions.
Yesterday was a day of perfection and Robin's "oh" just capped it off. LOL
Hey! We are looking to go in October but won't know until right before because we need to coordinate with both Kim and Jason to make sure they're both working that day. I kept thinking of you for some reason and how you would be The General on the set tour.
I was thinking, since my plans have changed to go to London in October, I might try and make another quick trip up to Toronto at some point in November, would you be open to such a thing? :-)
