Starbucks pays 8.50 an hour and I'd say you make a dollar or two for every hour you work in tips. So yea, it would probably be somewhere around 10ish an hour with tips.

I thought pretty hard about how I would answer this.
Starbucks is probably the hardest job I've had. There is always a lot to do and a lot of picky people to serve. But I like this kind of job. Every beverage I make is up to standard and looks pretty damn tasty, if I do say so myself. I take pride in my work, even though most people would just see me as another coffee slave.

I like my workplace now. There was a time when I didn't. Mostly because there was a girl working with me who didn't like me. She is gone now and I'm a happy camper.

Everyone who works with me is between the ages of 19 and 25 and the oldest member of our staff is probably 27-32 (I'm not sure so that's my estimation) and no one treats her differently even though she's married and stuff.

I'd say everyone at our store is either friends or friendly with one another. This isn't the case for every starbucks but it's like that with ours.

I'd also like to mention that our 'bux is probably the best one to work at in the downtown area. Our manager is great and we score pretty high on performance reviews.

The only real downsides I can think of are:
-Dealing with assholes
-lots of drinks to make
-you don't always get 40 hours a week... even if you want to work full time. :s
-you don't make your own schedule
-secret drink customers instilling paranoia in everyone

I like working here though. Whatever you do don't work at les cours mont royal or at the starbucks at bonaventure... everyone knows those are the worst ones ever. You don't get properly trained :o
