I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits for the Christmas season. Please extend my regards and good wishes to all your extended family. I gave me great pleasure to hear that you were able to remove yourselves from London for these weeks.
I know that our families have not communicated as frequently of late, as we once did in the past, especially since I moved away to school. But I also know that my mother would be thinking of you during this, a time of hope and joy, even in the troubled circumstances.
