Dear Mrs Hooper

Thank you for the box you sent me. I do not need it yet, but I promise to write to you when it happens. I am glad you did not give it me before I left; I would have been too embarrassed for father to see it. I wish my mother I’m sure Mother would also Thank you for thinking like a mother about me. The school nurse explained everything to us last year, but I could not ask father about it over the summer break.

Keep Eddie safe and look after father for me, please. I know its safer here, but I still wish I could be with them in London. I also miss your biscuits. The kitchen staff are doing well with the food rationing, but I think they are using magic to do it, Father probably knows something. I hope everyone is still well and healthy. Do write.
