big update that I've been putting off
hmmmm where to start?? How about where I left off? Sounds good.
Friday: ignored roommate and friends in the morning. It's not *my* fault they came back stoned late Thursday night. One class. Fridays are happily simple. Sat around in my room then went to straighten my hair for the sole reason that it takes a really long time and I didn't wanna be around roommate and co. Even later--to the mall!! So girly....went with an actual female friend and had girly fun. Got fun stuff. 'Twas an experience either way cuz I'd never been to the mall here before.
Friday night: DDR tournament!!! Fuck yeah!! I entered cuz I wanted to play, not cuz I expected to accomplish anything like winning. I credit the club officers for a well-run event. Even if I was too stupid to understand the rules till the second round. In a freak incident the likes of which may never be seen again, I won 3rd prize!! Though it was partly (and a big part too) due to luck. The bracketing, randomly chosen, worked out so that I got a bye on the 3rd round and so was not eliminated by a more skilled player. So I ended up in the final round out of sheer luck and insanity. They scored by score on the first 3 rounds, then on the last round they scored by perfects....and it had to be a heavy song....each of the 3 finalists got to pick a song, then the other 2 had to play the same song....so I played my first official heavy song yeah go me!! I picked first and did Only You cuz it's slow and I'm not that fast. I pretty much died on the other 2 songs tho, but it was fun anyway....last song was V and had just been opened up, so it was fitting (I guess; this is just according to other people) for it to be last. The whole thing was great, and I came away with $20 to Wal-Mart and a rubber band. (but Wal-Mart is so evil.....)
Saturday: got up with enough time to be late to club. Martial arts are fun!!! So I got some exercise, then ran home to do costume stuff....Anime club was having a cosplay contest, and all I wanted was pix of the cosplayers....I thought my friend meant that *everyone* would be cosplaying, so I threw together a schoolgirl outfit to fit in.....and felt really stupid when I got there. There were only about 5 others cosplaying or dressed up at all....And then my friend, dressed up as Captain Hook, took me as her hostage to the front to be scrutinized by eveyone else....eeeeek. The random thing is that I wound up with enough votes to get 3rd prize. Weird. I wasn't even trying. So I got me a fun bootleg poster of The Slayers. Wheeeeeee!! I guess the funniest part of the whole schoolgirl costume story was that on my way to the club (in costume, of course) I passed, naturally, people. What I didn't expect was that some guy at one point stopped, stared, looked up at the sky, and said, "Thank you, God!!" It was worth many giggles on my part, much later of course, because at the time I was just embarrassed.
Then to my goth friend's room for her to make me all goth for a party that night, because I don't have the makeup or the skill. Then to my room again, where I threw on my dress (yay!!!! an excuse to wear it again!!!) and went to meet our ride. We got lost on the way and made a huge circle thru nowhere. Stopped at a gas station at one point, where I took a picture of the driver, dressed as Satan, pumping gas....fun times. When he went to pay, he asked for a lighter, but the lady wouldn't sell him one....I wonder why??
Party was fun, though I feel badly for the host and hostess--they invited a ton of people and only 5 showed up. :'-( We had fun tho. No drinking. We played Truth or Dare, and many laughs were had. Satan made a few excursions to nearby domiciles, once with a severed head. heeheeheehee....
Halloween Sunday: not much at all, really. How lame. I was thinking I'd do work cuz I hadn't done any all weekend, but I ended up sleeping all day. At least my roommate's friends were gone. Then finally hauled my butt out of bed to fiddle around with internet but not actually do work. Made update here. Then frantic getting ready for "Trance Dance Party" in the union. Went all punk, wearing every piece of metal I could find...couldn't get that damn safety pin thru my ear tho so normal earrings instead. Discovered me a new hairstyle!! what! variety??!?!? I only hope I looks as fun as I think it looks and that I'm not wandering around looking like a fool, cuz I left it in for today too....Anyway, the party was major lameness....music was fun but there was literally NO ONE THERE. Couldn't get ahold of my friend who said she'd come (you know who you are--I know you read this shit). The high point was with about 15 people, in this huge massive assembly type room...sad. Costume contest, in which I won a CD of Swedish techno music for the sole reason that I was one of about 6 people present at the time and I happened to be dressed up. Some guy dressed as the Joker came up and talked to me for forever, then later I hung out with some other guys.....I felt like such a whore.....must have been the skirt (very short; had to wear shorts underneath to feel safe). Went for a drive with one through the depths of local nowhere, which was fine cuz I didn't wanna go back to my room where my roommate would surely be asleep. Talked about everything and nothing. Whatever.
I felt kinda gypped at the end of the night, cuz I didn't really do anything and it was friggin' Halloween.....but I got to wear weird clothes and stuff, so it was ok.
So all in all, got to wear a total of 3 costumes in 2 days, complete with accompanying hairstyles and makeup. Wow. Crazy stuff. tho I have rediscovered the fun of different clothes and I think I'll actually try stuff with my hair--my sister would be so proud. on a side note: would anyone who knows what they're talking about like to offer some advice on how to remove eye makeup? How about after sleeping with it on? I have exactly zero experience in these matters..... ;_;
Today: Classes. Test in Japanese, which I only studied for right before class....worried about it but pulled it off quite well, I think. Got a speaking test tomorrow which I do need to actually study for. Remember the German Project From Hell Due To My Own Procrastination that I bitched about forever? (and this is the last time I'll mention it) By some crazy freak of grading nature, I got a A-/B+ on it. w00tness!!!! Also managed to fit in some room cleanage today, which is good. I hope more tomorrow.
I'm still pretty pissed at my roommate about the whole friends-over-for-the-weekend thing, but I haven't worked up the balls to confront her about it (plus the fact that I don't actually HAVE balls, either literally *or* figuratively). I have ot say something, but I don't know when or how or what....this sucks.
Election Day is tomorrow, and I have not decided whom to vote for yet.....ever since I saw Nader speak I've been confused....DAMMIT!!
