weekend

Friday: stupid. slept late. quiz in philosophy. back to dorm for sitting around. DDR club at night--no special score this week. Hung out in friend's room really late watching anime. Then back to my room for sleep.

Saturday: parent's day!!! wheeeeee!!!! My parents came with my sisters to see the wonder that is my school. They brought me a ton of food and some stuff from home. Spent a really long time in the bookstore so they could get stuff that had my school's name on it. Then I hung out in my room with my sister and showed her all the crap I've been putting on my computer while parents went to seminars and stuff. That part was pretty cool, cuz I don't talk to my sister much since she's never online. Later went to dinner with family. Fun and such, I guess. It was nice being with people I actually know for a change. They all left and I went to my room to try to put all the food somewhere. Then I went to see Ralph Nader!! Yay politics!!

The whole thing was pretty stupid overall. They had Nader scheduled in a lecture hall, then they switched the hall at like the last minute so there wasn't enough room for all the people and there was a huge crowd in the hallway, which I was in, not having gotten there early enough. Then they moved the overflow into another hall--they said he'd be speaking there instead....but rather they just moved a bunch of people and Nader spoke in the first hall....and they put the baseball game on in the second, I guess to prevent a riot or something....so we just sat there and they didn't even tell us if he'd be speaking there at all or not.....yeah. all really stupid. We ended up waiting for an hour and a half before anything even happened....a ton of people left....then finally the campaign coordinator for Nader spoke--for an hour, trying to stall. Then finally, FINALLY Nader came in and spoke. So I guess it was pretty cool of him, because he gave two speeches that night....he spoke for at least an hour and a half to us patient waiting people. It sucked having to wait like that, but it seemed worth it to see a presidential candidate speak. One of the kids on the committee in charge of organizing the whole thing spoke for a few minutes to apologize and explain why it was in the lecture hall to begin with: it would have cost the group (Students for Peace and Justice) $5,000 to use the event center. So she asked for support in their movement to gain more control over the facilities and such that our own tuition pays for.

It *was* pretty cool seeing Nader speak. He addressed a lot of issues, and basically made me remember how the Green Party has a lot of the same ideologies as I do.....and it all made me think about politics and my vote and such....all this intellectual stuff....

Sunday: HOMEWORK HOMEWORK HOMEWORK. I'm gonna die or fail college, whichever comes first. I have to ask my professor for an extension on my stupid project tomorrow or I'll go insane trying to finish it by Wednesday...plus all the other shit I have to work on now....I wish I didn't have to sleep at all. I'd get so much more done. On that note, I also wish I didn't procrastinate so much......
