I'd classify that as a genuine Dave Lovefest

Am I the only one who wants to see the new Batman movie? I just watched a "Making Of" on HBO and it looks amazing! Someone has to go see it with me!

I was promoted today. It isn't official yet because they have to tell the people who aren't being moved up before they tell the ones who are. But because no one seems to be able to keep secrets from me I was told that I got it! I was kind of tipped off because the interview seemed to be more of a formality than a formal question and answer session. Erika (the ops manager who hired me and on several occasions voiced how much she liked me to numerous people) spent most of the time saying things to the effect of "I really feel that the new headcashiers need to exemplify this, which you do," or "I always think its great how you ____ which is something headcashiers need" and so on and so forth. She did most of the talking and admitted at one point that she had so many questions for the other applicants, but couldn't think of many for me. Then all weekend I've covered other head cashier's lunches and watched the front end while Kim does things, which is something they would never do unless I got it. While I was covering Carol's lunch today, she told me to make the lot associate's schedules. Granted the lot only has 3 people in it, but it still means something that they would have me do it, like they trust me even though I'm so new. I've never been promoted before. At Boston Market I was too young and at Rite Aid I didn't have enough training but I can say it was worth the wait. Also I think it is amazing that I moved up in only a year. Some people have been there 5 years before being promoted. In addition to a substantial pay raise I also don't have to be on my register all the time, when I see things I don't like I can change them, I'll be part of the management team so I'll get a heads up on everything when shit goes down, etc. While they were tweaking the new schedule I was told that my first closing shift would be on Saturday night so I stuck Caitlin on as one of my closing cashiers which is great because I love closing with her. I never thought I would make such good friends at the store but I honestly have. Who knew a fucking orange apron could mean so much?

P.S. I'm such a dork.
