You come home and I ask you what you've been doing with yourself, and you say nothing at all...

Isn't it amazing how much your life can change in a year? At this time last year, fresh from the dorms I was living with Peter. I had just started at Home Depot and didn't yet realize how much it would suck. I was taking a billion summer classes, which towards the end of August would drive me to the brink of a mental breakdown. Tommy the Taurus was still alive and well. Now I live in a house with an ever-expanding number of roommates (we just added another one). My stomach aches when I cross the freeway on my way to work. I'm taking the summer off from classes and even though I loved Tommy with all of my heart, Eddie the Escape is far superior. I remember feeling like my life had improved last year because I had stayed in Kzoo, finally shook off the pharmacy and Rite Aid back home and was working so hard on my education. Now there is a piece of me who wishes I could get home to see my family more often without having to drive 250 miles roundtrip.

I finally sent in my tuition reimbursement (a.k.a. the only reason why I can't quit my job). With it I plan to buy the following items:
1. A mountain bike. I haven't had one since middle school and there is some great biking paths around here.
2. A filing cabinet. Ahhhhh organization.
3. A trip to Ikea to purchase the following: Book shelves, a new dresser.
