been having a total eargasm the past week...
omg, so i ended up missing the grammy's but thank goodness for youtube. i'm also on tumblr, so when i saw my old internet friend posted this performance, i went to watch it. omg...melted. (see more below vid)...watch it for a moment...
why did it made me melt? easy...the type of music i really love is soul/r&b (rock is #2). bruno mars was on point. he brought it back...and i loved how they started it with hip hop (i can actually listen to B.o.B....he's not that bad), blended it with old school motown r&b (50s style) with bruno mars, and went into the 60s/neo-soul with janelle monae. when janelle ended her part...i stood up out of my chair at home and gave them a standing ovation. (i know bruno's voice wasn't that great, but give him a break, he's been rehearsing and had more parts to sing than what janelle had to do...)
you can call me crazy if you want, but after hearing the crap that's out on the radio, you'd best believe i'll applaud on these 3 because they weren't auto tuning the living shit out of their music. it got you. it made you want to be there and join the crowd and enjoy their music. that was the feeling i got from it. when they got to janelle's part, OMFG, the drums, the beats...fuckin' total eargasm! it was over! you don't understand how many times i've listened and watched this vid.
lol...but i think i'm in love w/bruno mars. it's making me wish my hubby could sing, but alas, it's just me and my daughter doing all the singing. i miss good music like this where it just makes you feel awesome. i may have to take some voice and piano lessons w/my kid just to freakin' go wild on it. i seriously want to do this...soon....plus it'll help me get my daughter ready for her talent show. muwahahaha. anyway, just wanted to share that with ya'll. <3
