Good weekend for Chelsea yaye. Enjoyed the match at the pub yesterday over my ex-pat brekkie with tomatoes and toast, despite appalling officiating that really soured the game's tempo. Oh, well, three points are three points and the celebrations were uber squeeful. <3
In case you missed it, Asier scored his first for the club and Duffa faceplanted in a mis-hit shot towards the end. <3333333 Now he and Didier can argue over who has the better ball control. XP They were clearly laughing about it on the bench afterwards. Crap, really. *loves*
Also, as a bonus, Duffa and Robbie Keane were seen walking into the tunnel together after the match. Naw.
Even better, I wake up this morning and find this interview with John in The Independent. Favourite bits:
On starting out at Chelsea: "I was playing in midfield and was really small, - I was small and fat, basically." Wee pudgy John? *dies* *wants for cuddle toy omg*
On team bonding: "One thing that's been going on is everybody has to get up and sing, which is quite hard in front of everyone. We've had some bad ones - Shaun Wright-Phillips got up there and literally just spoke it. He tried 'Ordinary People'. I did mine a few years back, me and Jon Harley did 'My Old Man's A Dustman' and even did a little dance." I just. can't. even. alk;sghf;sha
Only bad thing was John taking a knock in the knee and staying down for quite a long time, for him. :( Had me really worried, but he played on. Could be a doubt for England, though, which I wouldn't mind that much except knowing how he'd be disappointed to miss out. And speaking of England, here's another good read from The Independent.
