Being a Chelsea supporter has certainly had its emotional extremes of late, and I'm not sure I'll ever recover from the stress of certain games this month! But that's what it's all about, isn't it, being a part of the club, and I really wouldn't change things even if it means losing ten years off my life every matchday!
Today was another stressfest that sadly didn't go to plan, but I'm strangely not that disappointed. Anything can happen in football, there's a lot to play for on several fronts, and at the end of the day we still have the best bunch of guys I'd ever want to support. Case in point, our Captain Fantastic, who showed once more in today's programme notes why he's the perfect man (dodgy fashion choices aside LOL) to lead us in victory or defeat. Check out how he praises his teammates and sticks up for the ones getting (extremely undeserved IMO) stick:
WE ALL HAVE TO STICK TOGETHER
The FA Cup Final again! Well done to us and Everton for getting there.
I don't think tonight will have any bearing on that game and right now, tonight's fixture is far more important. We can still win the league and we must get another three points this evening.
Everton need a result and games against them are as tough as they come. All FA Cup Final thoughts are out of the window, as are Champions League semi-final thoughts.
But well done to the guys for getting us there again. That's our fifth in six years which is some record, but it's without the ultimate achievement, and that's something we're determined to put right this year.
The game here against Liverpool was one of the most agonising and exhilarating I've ever watched. As a player you don't really experience the emotions of a fan, not when you're playing, and I had to go through that against Liverpool.
It's hard, I don't know how you lot live through it time after time! You were magnificent on the night and you've set a high standard to live up to!
It's been an emotional time over the last few weeks. The win at Anfield, the crazy game at home to Bolton, the crazier game at home to Liverpool and the FA Cup semi-final.
The gaffer has told us we don't have to keep going behind before playing well and that's something we need to get right. But overall our form is pretty good.
Didi is the best striker in the world again and Nico's still the equal top scorer in the Premier League. Lampsy's not stopped being the best midfielder in the world for I don't know how long, Michael Essien is back with all his energy, strength and ability and Alex is doing ever so well in defence.
People are making a difference in games, Bally with his passing and then his goal against Bolton and Brana with his goals at Liverpool. Ash just goes on being the best leftback in the world and Flo is in the form of his Chelsea life.
And for all those people who have had a pop at Big Pete recently, just a reminder... we've let in fewer goals than any other Premier League team this season. He'll do for us!
He's our mate, he's the best in the world and when he comes out in the last minute at Wembley and gets through a crowd of players to punch the ball clear, we love him!
Football's a lot of fun at the moment. We've got a difficult trip to Upton Park on Saturday, with a get-together with Franco and Clarkey to look forward to, and it's always special then to play in the Nou Camp.
But it's only ever really fun when you're winning. You can win all season and seem to do well and then not win when it matters. Then it's not fun!
We're at the time of the season now when it really matters. If we all stick together, we can have a lot of fun over the next six weeks.
Come on the Chels!
You tell 'em, JT! You're the best and I'm so proud of you and all the boys. Can't wait to be there to cheer you all in person! ♥ ♥ ♥
