From a Great Height, Rain Down
by provetheworst

This is why bandom is so awesome and why I fell in, head first, in glorious freefall.  It's apocalyptic fiction with the PATD boys. It's quiet, no zombies, no vampires. The worst has happened but peace is a long way away. Brendon and Spencer are making their way across the country to New York in search for Ryan. Ryan is a Holy Grail of sorts, but flawed, irritating and true. Brendon is naive and sheltered and pliant, until we realize just that he's made of spun steel. Spencer is driven yet tender and caring. The story is not a grand opera; there are no big gestures. The story builds on careful details until it ends in a quiet reveal that leaves you open and raw.

Note to self: Read the sequel Glory to the World.
