Ok, so there's this song, and I know you all know it right. It's the one that goes "Lover, Lover, lover, you don't treat me no good no more!" You know it, right? Right. Ok, so when I think about that song, I remember it being kinda disco-ey and house-ey, maybe even a little doof-ey, with a diva-esque singer. So I was thinking about the song, and wanted to download it, right? I could only find 3 versions to download.
One was by Rob 'Millsie' Mills, a reject from Australian Idol and famous for being the only Australian victim of one of Paris Hilton's one-night-stands. Not this one.
Another was by a band called Mercury 4, whom I seem to remember as a kind of Popstars-lite boy band who had hmmm... ONE mildly successful song and then disappeared off the radar, only to show up occasionally for Carols By Candlelight concerts and then disappear back into obscurity. Nope, pretty sure it's not them.
Finally, I found one by someone called Sonia Dada. I think, "Hey, Sonya. Girl's name. BINGO."
But no. The Sonya Dada version is some kind of country meets gospel meets something with some kind of (good, but not what I'm looking for) groove.
No. No. No!!
Why can't I find that song? I love that song! And yet it seems that it does not exist. Perhaps I am going crazy... except my sister remembers it too!
BAAAAH!!!
Unless I have made some terrible mistake (ie, it actually is Mercury 4 and I just mistook their girly boyband voices for, well, a girl), the song has DISAPPEARED FROM THE EARTH'S SURFACE.
Woe.
Am I crazy? OR does somebody else remember it?
Anybody? =(
