A Week in the Life?

Feb 06, 2006 18:06

Woo! So... what have I been up to in the last week?

Humenenenem. First Monday back was rather uneventful - some of the classes weren't running and by an (un)lucky twist of fate, my whole first day was filled with spares. So I couldn't even, like, study or do homework. So I just spent them chatting to friends and doing some sketches for textiles. Most of the rest of the week was quite uneventful too. Drama was fun. Spesh was insanely difficult. Textiles was as per usual. Lit is all about sexual repression. And German... well... I only had one class so I can't remember, we haven't really done much yet!

Thursday was an exciting day for three reasons (four if you count how I had got friendly with my hairdryer and had smooooooth hair.):
Firstly, Lost was back on (goddammit, it is such a painful stupid drawn out show BUT I CAN'T STOP WATCHING IT!!! SO! GOOD!). It was a pretty good episode, lots of tension and stuff, but by all means the best part was the song. And in the scene near the end, when Jack was all *I am trying to be sneaky and also am totally scared to death whilst crawling around underneath an island* and the song started playing? And he was all, WHATTHEFUCKMAMASANDPAPASWHATSGOINGONMYMINDISBLOWN and I was laughing my head off because it's SUCH a silly, daggy, happy song, and he was scared out of his pants. Yep so that was cool.
Secondly I read S*P for the first time in ages, and it was REALLY GOOD but really bad too and it made me cry. =(
Thirdly, on Thursday we had our FIRST MUSICAL REHERSAL!!! YAYAYAYAY!!! Ok, So we were mainly singing songs I wasn't in so part of it was a bit of a waste of time, but it was so much fun! And then we were recording the main song, and I was like *croakcroak haven't sung all holidays, voice is dying, YES I KNOW YOU CAN'T HEAR ME* during my solo bit and Mrs Gilmore was just singing over the top of me... so now everyone who hears my bit probably thinks I sing like Gilmore. >.< But it was heaps of fun anyway... and I discovered my butt is (a lot) over one metre in circumferance, SO DON'T YOU LIE TO ME ABOUT MY BUTT SIZE, THANK YOU, I now have confirmation of it's enormity! Aaaaand we had a lot of fun trying to teach Nush how to speak in a french accent (which should help, as she is playing a french character). And I finally met Sharam, who is going to be playing my father. And and and lemme think. I started blocking out a scene with Vince and Lekkie, and do you want to know what the first stage direction I ever got was? Do the Nudie Pose! Not as dirty as you think... but it's a dirty scene. ;D And the dancers have already choreographed half the song and it looks great. It's gonna be so good, you guys have to come see it! =D =D =D

Friday morning the POWER WENT OFF so my alarm didn't go and I slept in >.< And was nearly late for assembly. This was not good as I was actually doing my first sing of the hymn and school psalm (miked and all) in front of everyone, and all the other choral leaders were on camp so there was no-one to replace me, ahhhh! But it all went ok, and I didn't go off key. Thank god.
Then on Friday we had an excursion into the city to look at some of the art exhibitions (for textiles). We saw the British Pop-Art of the 60's exibit and it was great, especially the photography. And then I found a jukebox - a real, authentic 60's jukebox that ACTUALLY PLAYED and was all archy and orange and bubbley and had real vinyl records in it and I got excited and programmed it to play like 6 of my favourite 60's songs in a row. >D So if you happened to be in NGV and saw a girl in embroidered cargo pants moshing to 'Wild Thing' last Friday... that was me. =D Man, I wish I lived in the 60's. Everything was so much cooler then. Everyone was so free. We also saw quite a few other exhibits, including the Martin Grant one at Federation Square, which I thought was particularly well done. The giant crinoline! THE MARY-POPPINS COAT!!! Honestly, if I were only allowed one coat to wear for the rest of my living days, it would be a Mary-Poppins coat. Probably in red, although grey or black would prolly be more practical. Me, Jo and Kitty went and had lunch at Southbank (takeaway Chinese, of course. With cake!) and then went shopping in Exentrix and American Rag. Those are prolly my two favourite stores in all of Melbourne and I always make sure to visit them when I go into the city. We saw this ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS little pinafore dress in American Rag and I couldn't resist trying it on - and omg, it actually fit. It was kinda like a thick brown felt Sailor-meets-cheerleader dress that Floozy would probably love, but it was fantastic. I didn't buy it though because it rode up my bum a bit, and also it was $80 and I didn'y exactly bring that much cash to school. But. I am going to dream about it every night now.

(Speaking of dreams, I had this weird dream that a gay couple was living in my Torquay house, and every time I went in one of the bedrooms it turned into one of the Tintern piano rooms and I found them being all cute and affectionate and kissy in there. It was weird, it was kinda like a teenaged, 21st century version of the boys from Brokeback Mountain, [from what I've heard of the film] and they were so cute and one was all protective and manly and the other one was really short and affectionate. Anyway.)

Later on on the excursion, Jo and Kit went home and left me on my lonesome, because JESSUM IS A BEOTCH AND ABANDONED ME IN THE CITY!!! So I stole her MP3 player. Hah hah.

That night I had Lean Cuisine Lasagne for dinner and watched a tape of last week's Smallville. Cos I'm cool.
Then Emma came home and was all "OMG AMANDA COME AND SEE THE GAY COWBOY MOVIE WITH ME!!!" So we went out with her friend Amy to go see it at Knox but it was all booked out, so we saw Walk the Line instead. And can I say, I thought it was really good? Reese Witherspoon was obviously fantastic but people haven't been paying as much attention to Joaquin Phoenix (whom I know lady_peelio is in love with), who was great, I loved his characterisation of the role. His daddy was so mean! It's not really the fluffy romantic film you expect but it's great, I reccommend it. Plus, keep an eye out for Elvis doing drugs. :P We didn't get home 'til about half past midnight (mum and dad = not happy, but not yelling very much because they themselves had only got home had midnight, having seen that new musical about the Spelling Bee). Then Emma and me watched Lost again, because together, we are just that cool. Hah hah. Jack is scared of the roller-disco music!!!

Saturday was mostly uneventful. I had my haircut, and I took photos because I knew by Monday (today) it wouldn't look nearly as nice.

How exciting. Hair is smooth and shiny and striaght! Fringe is actually decent (albeit longish) fringe length (as opposed to mid-neck length)! Ends are not split! Layers form! You can actually SEE the blonde-ness! Whups, and warning, the Amanda in these pics has no make-up. No make-up and no airbrushing makes Amanda a dull girl.

Laugh, for I am so Cheeky and Rogue-ish that I should be wearing green hats at jaunty angles.

Gimme the sexy look baby! The camera loves you!

Look at that pout! It's Angelina Jolie! *coughcoughcough*

Soooooo anyway.... the rest of the weekend was spent doing (and not successfully completing) homework. How riveting. BLEGH. At least I have now finished my first drama assignment. I didn't know what to do so I just filled a page with minute handwriting and bullshitting on about symbolism. *Prays the bullshit earns an A*.

actors, i'm so hot, movies, singing, tv, i'm so cool, musical, smallville, art, lost, film, me, photos, gay boys, school, drama, something positive
