As you all might remember I found myself in a similar situation on Valentines Day this year to how I did last year. =P And I created a little Valentine to myself in protest. =D So I decided to do it again this year to see if anything had changed.
=D Hurrah for Valentines Day.
You know, even after all these years I still don't see the hoopla about Valentines Day. Sure, it's romantic, but to me it seems like it forces a person to be romantic, and I think romance should be a personal choice, a spontaneous thing. That's just how I feel.
Sure, if I was with someone I wouldn't want them to ignore it... I just don't really think it needs to be accompanied by jewellery and boxes of chocolates, unless that's just something you want to do for them. Just as long as there was some special indication that "whoever it is" is glad that they're with me is enough. =)
Lol, I didn't even remember Valentines was coming until I logged into POSTSECRET and EVERY SINGLE ENTRY was about blah blah I'm alone/not alone on Valentines whoopee/boohoo. People put way too much significance on a silly little day. *sigh*
So, here's to my nineteenth consecutive Valentines alone. Cheers!
To those celebrating alone: who cares! Go hire a silly old Disney movie, cook YOURSELF a special dinner, cuddle a soft toy or pet, and revel in being able to fart out loud in bed. =P
To those celebrating with someone: I wish you many more happy years of romance; and don't forget to use a condom.
