my BM plans: '07 (x-posted)

Jun 20, 2007 17:50

this year for BM my camp is doing a great deal of things;

stickers - "ShirtCocking is NOT art.. So put on pants or lose the shirt"
organic, local dinner for neighbors - grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup and fresh salads
chairs for camp - several moon-esque chairs. one made of cardboard, the rest of plywood

and of course, the big kahuna...
my thesis.

let's discuss, shall we?
for my thesis under "american studies: three way intersection of science, gender, and education" at UCB (graduating spring 2008) i'm doing a comparative study examining two different lesson plans (one "fun", one "traditional") in two different settings (one "fun" - burning man, one "traditional" - classroom). my theory is that the "fun" lesson will be better received in a traditional academic setting because it is more sorely needed.

for the "fun" lesson, we're gonna do something with building/destroying models.. likely a take off the waterballoon drop
for the "traditional" lesson, we're gonna do some written math.

wow, i really got my plate full for this year.
and i'm volunteering up the wazoo. ...

hmn. well at least i can get out of my first week of school easier because of my thesis involving BM.
