Welcome Message

[The following is a message that plays immediately upon the character's first use of the smart phone. The phone will ask the character to select a language first, and afterwards, all messages and data on the phone will be displayed in that language. This welcome message plays in scrolling text across the screen, accompanied by a warm, calm male voice.]

Please, don't be alarmed.

You are safe, for now.

The device in your hand is a government issued smartphone; you may use it immediately to call for help. DO NOT MISPLACE your smartphone; it is, at this moment, the single most important device you can carry.

It has three functions:

First, to serve as a source of information. This message is played by default when the device turns on. For more information about your surroundings, you may go here, to find a list of relevant items that are necessary knowledge to survive here.

Second, the phone acts as a directional device; it will guide you to safe harbor, should you attempt to venture out alone. We do not recommend this, but if necessary, you need only to head towards the blinking red light on the navigational map. There you will find the Fortress, a military compound and source of safety.

Thirdly, you are as of yet unregistered, but the device will send out a GPS signal when activated, and help will be able to find your location immediately.

You will need help.

Outside is dangerous. Do not open the door until you are prepared. You have exactly twenty-four hours upon waking here before the door will open on it's own. If you can, wait for rescue to arrive. If you can't...

The room you'll find yourself in should be equipped with weapons, ammo, and medical kits-- as well as a few other assortments, if you are lucky. Arm yourself well. Take whatever you can use to defend yourself best. If you arrived with a weapon of your own, all the better. Make sure it it charged and ready to go before you open the door.

Nothing outside is friendly. Please review the attached information in depth, and do not stop running until you reach the Fortress.

Please travel with care.

Sincerely,

Leutienient Colonel Samuel Williams
New Recruit Opperations and Rescue
